One of the key methods employed by the Health Policy and Systems Data & Analysis Center is the policy and program timeline tool. In this 7-minute tutorial video, Mary Kinney from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa describes the timeline’s purpose and how to use it.
The purpose of the timeline is to chronologically document changes occurring in a country’s health policy, programs and implementation in order to be able to assess driving factors as well as obstacles of changes. This information can be used to analyze variations at different levels and to inform conclusions and lessons learned.
