From June 23-26, 2026, the Countdown to 2030 for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health Initiative held a four-day training for Cohort 3 of its Fellowship Program, focused on policy engagement, knowledge translation, and strategic communication.
The capacity-strengthening forum aimed to enhance the fellows’ capacity to communicate their key research findings, policy implications, and recommended actions effectively.
Through the training workshop, fellows:
- Strengthened their ability to translate research findings into clear, policy-relevant messages.
- Developed and refined posters for presentation at the upcoming 2026 Country Annual Meeting, highlighting their research questions, methods, key findings, and policy implications.
- Built confidence in delivering concise and compelling three-minute research pitches.
- Received targeted technical support to enhance the quality, clarity, and relevance of their research outputs.
- Strengthened their skills in visual communication through the effective use of graphs, tables, infographics, and policy messaging.
- Developed post-2026 Country Annual Meeting action plans for manuscript development, policy engagement, and dissemination.
By investing in the next generation of African researchers and evidence leaders, Countdown to 2030 is ensuring that country-generated evidence informs policies, programs, and accountability for the health of women, children, and adolescents.
