As part of the implementation of the Health and Social Development Plan (PDSS 2022–2026), the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene (MS/HP), in collaboration with partners, organizes two sessions of the National Technical Health Committee (CTNS) each year: one mid-year and one annual meeting at the national level. The main objective is to jointly review the progress and achievements of MS/HP structures in implementing Annual Action Plans, while also assessing the relevance of results and progress in light of the evolving institutional context.
From August 18–22, 2025, the CTNS meeting for the first half of the year was held in the amphitheater of the Islamic University of Niamey. Participants included the Secretary General of the MS/HP, the Inspector General of Services, Directors General, Central Directors, project and program coordinators, directors of public institutions (EPAs, EPICs, and EPSTs), central and regional executives of the MS/HP, technical and financial partners (PTFs), representatives of NGOs and health associations, health sector unions, regional health committees (COSANs), and professional associations.
On Wednesday, August 20, the Niger Countdown country team presented the key outcomes of the 2025 Countdown to 2030 Annual Meeting. The presentation was delivered by the GFF/Niger Liaison Officer, with other members of the Niger team in attendance. The session generated strong interest and was followed by an engaging discussion on recommendations and ways to ensure effective dissemination of the results. Participants emphasized the importance of using the findings to strengthen ownership, advocacy, and decision-making for reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH+N).
