
On March 6, 2025, the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) hosted the dissemination workshop for Phase 3 of the Countdown to 2030 (CD2030) project in its main conference hall. This event brought together all the structures involved in the project, highlighting the progress made and the future prospects.
A Key Workshop for Monitoring Health Sector Performance
The objective of this meeting was to present and analyze the results of studies conducted using data provided by various institutions. Through several thematic sessions, experts shared their analyses and engaged with participants in Q&A sessions.
The main presentations covered the following topics:
- Data Quality – Presented by Dr. Mariam Guindo, this session assessed the reliability of the data used for project analysis.
- Childbirth and Mortality – Dr. Berthé highlighted trends and challenges related to maternal and neonatal mortality.
- Vaccination – Dr. Belem presented findings on vaccination coverage and the necessary efforts to improve it.
- Postnatal Consultation – Dr. Mariam Guindo shared insights on postnatal follow-up for mothers and newborns.
- Lessons Learned and Recommendations – Kassoum Koné summarized key takeaways from this phase of the project and provided recommendations to strengthen interventions.
- Communication Plan – Mrs. Diallo Aissata Touré outlined the communication strategies designed to enhance the visibility of project results and mobilize stakeholders.
Finally, Dr. Mariam Traoré Guindo concluded the presentations by outlining the next steps for the continuation of the Countdown to 2030 project in Mali.

The workshop featured significant moments, including the opening and closing ceremonies, presided over by the Deputy Director General of INSP, Prof. Fatou Diawara, in the presence of technical and financial partners. Their commitment underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in improving the health of women, children, and adolescents through evidence-based decision-making.
