Strengthening Data-Driven Health Decision-Making in Rwanda

On October 13, 2025, the Countdown Rwanda Country collaboration team shared the findings and the outcomes of the 2025 country annual meeting with key stakeholders from the Ministry of Health, Republic of Rwanda and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre.

The dissemination focused on the integration of survey and health facility data to assess coverage and equity in reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) indicators.

Coinciding with the launch of the National Annual Health Sector Performance Report and the development process of the Statistical Booklet, the event provided a timely platform for aligning evidence generation with ongoing national health monitoring efforts.

This dissemination followed an earlier Countdown to 2030 methodology training, which equipped participants with advanced skills to analyze RMNCAH indicators and understand denominator selection, thereby promoting stronger data interpretation and use.

Speaking at the event, representatives from the Ministry of Health emphasized the importance of data-driven decision-making for improving health outcomes.

The collaboration comprising the Ministry of Health, Republic of Rwanda, Rwanda Biomedical Centre, African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), and the Global Financing Facility (GFF) continues to play a vital role in building Rwanda’s analytical capacity and fostering a culture of evidence-based policymaking.
