From July 21 to August 8, 2025, 15 research fellows from 14 African countries are attending an intensive residential training in Dakar, Senegal, as part of the Countdown to 2030 Fellowship Program.
Over the next three weeks, fellows will:
-
Refine their RMNCAH+N research questions with expert mentors
-
Enhance their skills in scientific writing, statistical analysis, health equity, and geospatial tools
-
Participate in bilingual (English–French) sessions combining lectures, hands-on labs, peer feedback, and structured mentorship
The training, officially launched on Monday, July 21 at Novotel Hotel, is the first in a two-part residential learning journey designed to strengthen evidence-informed public health leadership across the continent.
Led by APHRC and the CD2030 technical team, this program empowers early-career researchers to translate data into actionable insights to improve the health and well-being of women, children, and adolescents.
